The most popular type of Christmas crafts that are made is probably the ornaments that are hung on Christmas trees. This is in part because of the wide variety of things that cn be made and the unending assortment of materials that can be used. These tree ornaments are often made by kids in school but can also be made at home or by adults who want to personalize their tree ornaments.  When it comes to tree ornaments Santa, reindeer, colorful balls, popcorn chains and angels are the ones that are put together the most.  One nice tradition that some people favor when adding to their tree is to make one extra special item each year and make that a standard decoration of the tree for years to come. This way when they look back they can trace a history of year by year Christmas tree crafts and savor the memories that went with them.

Other popular crafts for children include the printable ones that can be seen on so many of the Christmas websites. These printable projects cover many different topics from word searches on but the most popular are the ones that allow kids to make interesting decorations for their walls. There are hundreds of pictures to choose from that can be colored, cutout and put up to make the whole house look more like its ready for the holiday season.  Let you kids cover their walls with these enchanting Christmas crafts.

Cookies are a holiday craft when they move from just being something good to eat into the realm of decorations. This can be done by finding the right cookie cutters with shapes that are appropriate to the Christmas season. These will include anything from tree shapes to reindeer, Santa, stockings, snowmen and so many more potential shapes. For some the most fun Christmas crafts include making a Santa Claus to hang from the tree, sit on the mantle or to give as a gift to a young child.  This can be done using so many different materials depending on how complex a Santa you want to make. They can be actual dolls made from a pattern that could be available at sewing stores or online. Or they can be something as simple as a decoration that is made from toilet paper rolls, cotton balls and red crayons.

Others like to make their own Christmas garlands to hang on the front door or over the mantelpiece. These usually use wire as their base and are covered with vines, branches or dried plants. They are then woven around the wire and can use artificial plants as instead of live ones. These garlands can have a scene inside of them, or use dried orange or lemon peels to make them smell nice. Some people use popcorn while others use colored feathers to make these Christmas crafts give the place they are hanging a special hint of Christmas joy.

There is no shortage of Christmas crafts that can be made. These can include candy cane reindeer, snowmen made from cotton balls, gingerbread tree ornaments or Christmas stockings. Use your imagination and your home will sing Christmas to all who come to celebrate the season with you!
